The China-Brazil Education Forum Held in Brazil

The China-Brazil Education Forum was held in Rio de Janeiro and Sao Paulo, Brazil, from Nov. 19 to 21, 2012. The delegation, comprising more than 160 delegates from 76 Chinese Institutions of Higher Education headed by Secretary-General Dr. Liu Jinghui, participated in the Forum. Guests from Brazilian Government include Minister of Education, Mr. Aloisio Mercadante, Vice Minister of Education Mr. Amaro Lins, and Chairman of CAPES Mr. Jorge Guimaraes, as well as many other officers of education sections. Ms. Chen Xiaoling, Chinese Consul-General to Rio de Janeiro and Mr. Sun Rongmao,Chinese Consul-General to Sao Paulo also addressed the Forum.
 


 

Secretary-General Liu Jinghui read the congratulatory letter for the Forum on behalf of Minister of Education Yuan Guiren, before she delivered a speech on China Education Development and Reform.
 

The Brazilian counterpart introduced the “Science without Borders” program to the Chinese delegates, and proposed to strengthen the cooperation with China and to sponsor more Brazilian students to study in China.
 

This Forum, another opportunity for communication and exchange between Chinese and Brazilian universities after the “China-Brazil Education Forum, Beijing” in March, aims at implementing the National Education Reform and Development of Long-term Planning Program and “Study in China” Program, promoting the bilateral exchange of students and teachers, and strengthening the cooperation between China and Brazil.
