May 17th to 25th, delegates from 39 Chinese higher education institutions including Peking University, Tongji University, Tianjin University, Huazhong University of Science and Technology, University of International Business and Economics, Beihang University and East China Normal University, participated in the education exhibitions held in Laos and Cambodia, South Africa and Tanzania respectively.
The Chinese Higher Education Exhibition received great support from the Chinese embassies and close attention from the local governments. Leaders attended the opening ceremony of the exhibitions included the deputy prime minister of Cambodia, Mr. Sok An,the vice chancellor of the National University of Laos, Mr. Lammai Phiphakhavong, the Minister of Communication, Science and Technology in Tanzania, the Minister of Education and Vocational Training in Tanzanian; Head of SABC Education, Chief Director for International relations, Department of Higher Education and Training, South Africa, as well as the Charge Daffaires Mr. Wu Zhiwu and Mr. Li Zhigong from the Chinese Embassies in Laos and Cambodia, the cultural counselor Mr. Liu Dong from the Chinese Embassy in Tanzania.

The Chinese Education Exhibitions in the four countries are warmly welcomed by the local universities, students and their parents. More than 20,000 students consulted the delegates about studying in China during the exhibitions.

Before the education exhibition in South Africa, the Chinese Higher Education Delegation organized a media briefing of Studying in China. During the media briefing, Mr. Zhang Ning, Secretary-General of CSC, introduced the situation of the education exchange between China and South Africa. He also answered the questions from the journalists. Ten media agencies such as the Xinhua News Agency, the People’s Daily, the African Times and the Chinese Express in South Africa attended the media briefing.
In Laos and Cambodia, the delegates from the Chinese Higher Education Exhibition held table meetings with the Lao and Cambodian students graduated from China. The graduates talked about their living conditions after graduation. The Chinese delegates provided advises on studying in China.
